MStM Softball Field Relocation_Martensdale Concept 1_2024-07-17.5 (Reduced) (2).jpg

Softball Field: As we continue to finalize our facilities plan in the District, one of the key components we have identified is that the softball field must move from the north side of the school in Martensdale. After discussions internally and with community members, we have identified a location in Martensdale near the stadium where the new softball field will be relocated as part of this plan.

  • Softball Field relocation and site improvements to accommodate construction on the north side of campus.

  • A shift to make the “front” of the building north facing.

  • The addition / renovation of a parking lot and bus loop on the north side along with a main drive.

  • The addition of a single safe and secure entrance on the north side serving both the elementary and secondary components of our school operation. Both the elementary and secondary offices would be located here, including space for both counselors and others.

  • The addition of a multi-purpose gymnasium that would be large enough to ensure that we can host post-season events in volleyball, basketball, and wrestling moving forward and provide our students in physical education with a first-class facility to participate in during school.

  • The renovation of the secondary science rooms to bring them to a 21st-century learning environment equipped with laboratory space that is both safe and appropriate.

  • Upgrades to the HVAC System, Fire Safety Systems, and Electrical System throughout the existing building to improve student and staff safety and comfort.

  • Furniture replacement throughout the building including student spaces.

CONCEPTUAL PLAN

Concept Plan Overview Video:  On June 17, 2024, Dr. Bill Watson provided a facilities project overview that has been developed to meet the needs identified by stakeholders across the Martendsale-St.Marys Community School District. This overview includes project scope, funding options, tax implications, and current projects. Since this overview was shared, the board finalized a financing plan that will utilize the SAVE Funds for the Softball Field and Science Rooms. For current details on funding options, review the Tax Impact Summary reference dated July 11, 2024.
